Daniel Blumberg

Shares New Video For ‘Family’ Feat. Stacy Martin

Watch the video for Daniel Blumberg’s ‘Family’, a brand new track recorded during the album sessions for his acclaimed debut album on Mute, Minus.

This is a live recording of the first, and only, time that Tom Wheatley, Billy Steiger, Jim White and Daniel Blumberg played ‘Family’. The track is accompanied by a video, shot by Daniel Blumberg featuring the actor Stacy Martin, who is known for her work with Lars Von Trier, Matteo Garone and her recent performance alongside Natalie Portman in Brady Corbet’s ‘Vox Lux’ which recently premiered at Venice Film Festival.

Filmed in a beautiful old Parisian hotel, the footage is a highly intimate portrait that draws you into the song’s compelling tension. Watch the video for ‘Family’ here

Daniel Blumberg’s recent involvement in the film world extends to his composition for the trailer for Curzon cinema’s Agnès Varda season, Gleaning Truths, touring cinemas now. On 30 September, Daniel Blumberg, Seymour Wright and Stacy Martin will perform as GUO in the fourth room of The Experimental Library.

Daniel Blumberg is a prolific visual artist, described by Hans-Ulrich Obrist as “one of London’s most exciting emerging artists”. He is one of a small number of artists in the world practising the old drawing technique of Silverpoint.  In October he will be exhibiting new drawings in collaboration with 2015 Turner Prize winners ‘Assemble’ at The British School In Rome and will be performing at the opening on 8 October.

After several recent festival appearances, Daniel Blumberg will embark on a European tour, starting on 21 September at Zürich’s Gamut festival with dates confirmed at Glad Café in Glasgow, Hyde Park Book Club in Leeds, Bristol’s Cube Cinema, Ravenna’s Transmissions festival with a headline show at London’s Kings Place, part of their Luminate series – full details below.
