Where videos for “Midnight City” and “Reunion“, directed by Fleur & Manu, tell the tale of a group of children with supernatual powers running a city, the video for “Steve McQueen” came from the fans. Partnering with Genero.tv Anthony Gonzalez selected French Director Balthazar Auxietre and Animator Sylvain Derosne’s (who has also collaborated with Spike Jonze) unique vision of a world honoring the “power of childhood, an eagerness for life, and the kind of paradoxical energy you have when you grow up.”  Watch their video here.

About awakening, craving, and conquering, Hurry Up, We’re Dreaming pushes into new vocal territory for M83. Here we see Gonzalez test out different ways of singing, ranging from a spectral breathy whisper to a howling scream.

“I think it is a reflection of my 30 years of being a human being. It’s a compilation of all my previous music together. It’s a retrospective of myself”, says Gonzalez.
