Arca

Xen (????? Edition) Digital Deluxe Album released today. New live dates announced. Listen to ‘Sad Bitch’.

Arca - Daniel Sannwald 2 RGB SM

Today, Arca releases a digital deluxe version of his highly acclaimed debut album. Xen (????? Edition) features music that has never previously been available digitally, including two bonus tracks, ‘????? A’ and ‘????? B’. The songs that make up ‘????? A’ and ‘????? B’ were only previously available as part of the very limited edition, deluxe vinyl-only version of Xen which sold out almost immediately on release. ‘????? A’ features the tracks ‘Empath’, ‘Get Out The Fucking Car’, ‘Snatch’ and ‘Vanity’ while ‘????? B’ features ‘Dog Crying At Its Owner’s Grave’. This special digital deluxe edition also features the Jesse Kanda-created videos for Xen tracks ‘Xen’ and ‘Thievery. Listen to ‘Sad Bitch’ here:

The 2014 release of his debut full-length album marked a new stage in Arca’s incredible journey, further cementing his position as one of our most uncompromising, intriguing and forward thinking producers. In addition to the release of Xen, Arca also spent much of 2014 proudly collaborating with Bjork as co-producer on her recently released Vulnicura album. The pair will continue to work together in 2015, with Arca set to join Bjork’s live band for their debut Vulnicura shows in New York (starting on 7th March at Carnegie Hall). Arca also recently soundtracked Hood By Air’s headline fashion show at the Pitti Uomo 87 event in Florence, Italy. Titled Sheep, the bespoke musical score was performed live on the night and then subsequently released as a free download via Soundcloud.

Meanwhile, Arca has also announced a series of live headline events for 2015. The dates will include a UK show at the Manchester International Festival on 4th July, and follow a run of acclaimed, sold out shows in London, Brussels, Paris, Amsterdam and Berlin last year. As with those events, Arca will be joined by longtime visual collaborator Jesse Kanda to create a radical new combination of sound and vision.
