Renowned worldwide for his techno DJ sets, German-born Chris Liebing released Burn Slow (2018), a minimalist electronic epic, beginning a new chapter for one of techno’s leading authorities. The release was an unexpected one for a DJ synonymous with fast, hard, and heavy techno, but it was soon clear that the album was a new facet to the DJ, music producer, podcast host and founder of CLR label’s career. Burn Slow features vocal contributions from Miles Cooper Seaton (Akron / Family), Mute labelmate Polly Scattergood (onDeadWaves), Cold Cave, Aleen and Gary Numan and was followed up by a series of remix EPs with reworkings and remixes from the likes of ANNA, Nicolas Bougaïeff and Chris Carter.

2021’s Another Day saw him bring together an eclectic mix of vocalists: Miles Cooper Seaton (in one of his last performances following his untimely dead) and Polly Scattergood were joined by Ladan (formerly known as Cold Specks), Tom Adams and Maria Uzor (Sink Ya Teeth) for the album, which was followed by a reimagining of the album for the clubs, Another Night.

For three decades, Liebing has channeled his passion to the performance, production, distribution and broadcasting of music on a global level. Alongside his recorded output, his DJ sets continue at full tilt – sonic journeys between darkness and light, always far from the beaten tracks of the musical mainstream.
