Yann Tiersen European Tour Underway - New UK & Ireland Dates Announced

Yann Tiersen has embarked on the next stage of his extensive European tour, which continues into 2026 with newly announced shows across the UK and Ireland.

The tour follows a remarkable run of performances, including a sold-out Barbican show, appearances at Glastonbury Festival, and a climate-activist blockade performance at Norway’s Mongstad oil refinery with AURORA. Earlier this year, Tiersen also completed an ambitious Arctic tour aboard his boat Ninnog, performing across Svalbard and beyond.

Speaking about the Arctic tour, Tiersen said:

“Our tour is more than music – it’s about rethinking the role of art in a world facing climate collapse… This isn’t a traditional tour. We’ll be performing in unconventional spaces, sometimes for free, because we believe music should not revolve around profit. The capitalist norms of touring need to disappear; instead, we’re focusing on sustainability and connection. This is about proving another way is possible, where creativity thrives without exploitation.”

Tiersen’s recent double album, Rathlin from a Distance | The Liquid Hour, is out now on Mute. The two-part release spans introspective piano works and bold, electronic pieces — a sonic reflection on identity, resistance, and transformation.

Rathlin from a Distance is meditative and reflective, while The Liquid Hour channels Tiersen’s electronic side, driving an energy for renewal and change. The album has received widespread critical acclaim:

“Relishing the opportunity to disregard borders…” — Uncut, 8/10

“…marries introspection with righteous resistance.” — MOJO, ★★★★

“Melancholy majesty.” — Record Collector, ★★★★

Recent singles include ‘Rathlin from a Distance’, ‘Ninnog at Sea’, ‘Arne’ featuring QUINQUIS, and ‘Caledonian Canal’.

Rathlin from a Distance | The Liquid Hour is available now on vinyl, CD, and digitally via Mute

Sheet music is published by Hal Leonard.
