Irmin Schmidt announces his new album Requiem, out now on vinyl, CD and digitally via Mute / Future Days Music (Spoon).

An album of balance between human-made and nature-produced sound, Requiem features prepared and unprepared piano intertwined with environmental recordings captured around Schmidt’s home in the South of France.

A meditation on remembrance, loss and commemoration, the album creates a liminal space where piano and nature enter into quiet dialogue.
