Erasure

Announce new single ‘Reason’ taken from The Violet Flame – out 24 Nov. Listen to Carter Tutti’s remix.

erasure_1_2014_joedilworthsm

Classic Pop – “Vivid proof that Erasure are still on fire”

The Quietus – ”… they were right all along.”

Popjustice – “You cannot go wrong with a bit of Erasure…”

Gay Times – “… the perfect mix of longing, bittersweet self-empowerment… to make you

dance, cry, or both at the same time.”

Erasure announce details of their single, Reason, out on 24 November 2014, the

new single to be taken from their Top 20 album, The Violet Flame, out now.

The single comes back with an exclusive new track, Die 4 Love, plus remixes from

Parralox, JRMX, GRN, Jochen Simms and Carter Tutti.

Listen to Carter Tutti’s (Throbbing Gristle / Carter Tutti Void) remix here:

Continuing the themes of love and hope that permeate The Violet Flame, Reason is

an open-hearted declaration of love, backed with an energising, driving dance beat

and arpeggiating synths. The track, produced by Richard X, will be released with an

exclusive b-side and remixes, full details to follow.

From the moment that The Violet Flame opens, the listener is drawn into Erasure’s

empowering sense of optimism. Once again – as they approach 30 years of

songwriting, having sold 25 million albums and achieved more than 40 hit singles –

with their 16th studio album, the globally-adored duo of Andy Bell and Vince Clarke

have created another stunning success of emotionally-charged electro-pop with

synth-fuelled melodies that strike instantly to the heart.

Explains Andy: “It’s one of our most exhilarating records that we’ve done since The

Innocents. If albums could have notes, it’s very high. I think it’s the thrill of where I am

in my life; things are so settled now and I just feel like there are brand new horizons.”

The Violet Flame, recorded in New York and London and produced by Richard X,

sees Erasure express an infectious zest for the future. The album’s creation – so

soon after the release of 2013’s Snow Globe – followed a different path to previous

Erasure releases. As ever, the songwriting was entirely collaborative but this time,

the warmth of Miami gave a perfect backdrop for the album.

As well as the standard version, The Violet Flame is available as limited 2CD

edition, which features Erasure’s legendary live performance at Mute’s Short

Circuit festival in 2011. In addition, there will be exclusive versions which include

the 3CD deluxe box set (SOLD OUT) as well as a VIP ticket bundle, featuring the

album, premium ticket and opportunities to meet the band and much, much more, all

available here.

The Violet Flame Tour has begun in the US, and the band return to Europe on 8

November for a tour that includes London’s Forum on 14 & 15 December. After

a show in Las Vegas on Hallowe’en, the year ends with two shows at New York’s

Terminal 5 on 30 and 31 December (full details below). Tickets are on sale now, full
