HAAi has shared a new remix by producer, songwriter and long-time collaborator Romy. Romy’s trance-pop remix of ‘Stitches’, which debuted during the pair’s back-to-back DJ set at Glastonbury earlier this year, steps into the energy of the party season – a season HAAi will close out with a 10-hour DJ set at London’s Phonox, the venue where her first residency took place.
Talking about the remix, HAAi explains, “Romy and I have been friends and collaborators for many years now, so it felt natural to invite her to be part of HUMANiSE. ‘Stitches’ felt like the perfect fit, and she’s captured all the emotion and reimagined it in the most Romy way – emotional, trance euphoria – leaning into the true spirit of HUMANiSE and what it means to be human in this world.”
Romy elaborates, “I’m so excited to have remixed a song by a dear friend of mine, HAAi. Over the years of our friendship, it’s been amazing to see HAAi evolve as a DJ and a musician and share her voice. When I heard the beautiful vocals and lyrics of ‘Stitches’, I was so inspired to bring the track into the euphoric club space that I’m grateful HAAi and I have shared many times. When I was getting into DJing a few years ago, HAAi was the most supportive DJ friend and I’ve learnt so much from her. She also remixed my first solo single ‘Lifetime’ so it feels like a special full circle moment that my first official remix for anyone is for her.”
HAAi’s acclaimed new album ‘HUMANiSE’ – a major evolution from her debut – features the singles ‘Satellite’ (feat. Jon Hopkins, Obi Franky, ILĀ & TRANS VOICES), ‘Can’t Stand To Lose’, and ‘Stitches’, all A-listed by BBC Radio 6 Music, plus the 6 Music B-listed ‘Hey!’, and her collaboration with KAM-BU, ‘Shapeshift’.
