Acclaimed electronic musician, producer and activist Moby shares a cassette remix of “precious mind,” featuring India Carney, along with a self-directed video. He has also today released the quiet home DJ Mix, which features new and unreleased versions of music from his latest album, always centered at night, out now via Mute.
The new cassette remix of his India Carney collaboration deftly transforms the jazzy haze of the original into a widescreen trip-hop epic. A procession of swooping strings, resplendent synth lines and swooning pads underpin India’s emotive delivery.
As the title suggests, Moby’s quiet home DJ Mix leans into playlisting themes of relaxation, study time, and offers some dreamy alternate takes on the album from Moby himself at a similar laidback tempo.
Moby will embark on his first tour in over a decade later this year across Europe/UK in celebration of Play, which featured classics “Porcelain,” “Natural Blues” and “Why Does My Heart Feel So Bad?” Selling over 12 million copies worldwide, it won numerous awards and became the biggest-selling electronic album of all time.
