Come to the ICA on the 18th October for a free event to celebrate 50 years since Throbbing Gristle played live at the ICA.

Listen to the music of TG on the ICA sound system with like minded individuals and share stories of the time, Throbbing Gristle, Industrial Records and the state of the world.

There will be exclusive merchandise available and a signing opportunity with Chris and Cosey.

Open from 1pm to 7pm, drop in as you will it.

Throbbing Gristle – Cosey Fanni Tutti, Chris Carter, Genesis Breyer P-Orridge (1950-2020) and Peter ‘Sleazy’ Christopherson (1955-2010) – activated 50 years ago, on 3 September 1976, and to mark the occasion, a special event at the ICA has been announced.

TG50 is a celebration of Throbbing Gristle taking place at the ICA, London 50 years after their incendiary live performance on 18 October 1976, part of their Prostitution exhibition at the gallery.

The exhibition and performance caused a tabloid furore. Headlines – “MP’s fury at porn palace” (Daily Mirror) and “Bust-up at Gallery of Porn” (Daily Express) – followed, with the Conservative MP Nicholas Fairbairn going on stand up in Parliament and famously dub Throbbing Gristle “wreckers of civilisation”.

This event will be marked on 18 October 2026 with a day of film screenings, talks and music, an invitation to Throbbing Gristle fans to gather at the ICA to share stories of the band and their importance to them. The event will launch a new range of TG merchandise with some items exclusive to the day.

The event will be free, with separate paid tickets available for cinema screenings and talk.
