A need for experimentation, exploring new sounds and new ways of making music is the inspiration that drives HAAi, the Australian-born London-based DJ who released her acclaimed new album, HUMANiSE in 2026. The new album – an immense evolution from her acclaimed debut, Baby, We’re Ascending – reckons with what it is to be human in an increasingly digital world. Featuring collaborations with Jon Hopkins, Alexis Taylor from Hot Chip, singer Obi Franky and rapper KAM-BU, the poet Kaiden Ford, as well as James Massiah, and two choirs: TRANS VOICES with choir leader ILĀ and a gospel choir led by Wendi Rose, the album extends her focus on an inclusive community.

HAAi, aka Teneil Throssell hosted Coconut Beats parties in Dalston which led to shows on Rinse FM and Worldwide FM, and eventually to a prestigious residency at the London club Phonox where Throssell played Saturday nights for two years. As her residency came to end, BBC Radio 1 broadcast her Essential Mix which went on to win the accolade of the Essential Mix of the Year, and a monthly Radio 1 slot, which continued into 2020.

In recent years, HAAi has toured extensively, with recent DJ sets at Coachella, Movement, Glastonbury, Body Movements and beyond. She has helmed UNiSON, her community-focussed night in London, remixed Kylie Minogue, released her own DJ-Kicks mix, and curated events in prestigious venues such as the classical music venue, BOZAR, inviting an ever-increasing fanbase into her world.
