Nonpareils is Aaron Hemphill’s solo project, which launched several years after his amicable departure from the band he co-founded, Liars. Scented Pictures, recorded by Hemphill in Berlin, was released in 2018, an album directed inspired by concepts relating to memories, or more accurately the sensory experience of memory. The tracks brim with poppy ideas and lush colour, yet their structures aim at defying logic, filtering the songs into strange new psychedelic corners.

Hemphill is working on a follow up, due to be released in 2024.
