Junip is excited to announce their return to North America for their first tour in support of the upcoming self-titled release Junip – in stores on April 23rd via Mute.  The Swedish trio will kick off their string of engagements in Los Angeles at the legendary Troubadour on May 30th and wrap up on June 16th in Philadelphia at Union Transfer.

New York Times’ writer Val Haller recently reflected upon a treasured chance to see the band live and had this glowing review to share, “I saw Junip in a tiny venue last year. For me, when he sings, the room goes away, the highest compliment I can pay to a performer.”

Be sure to check out Junip’s tour routing below for a date near you.

Junip continues to receive love for “Line of Fire” clocking in with over 175,000 plays on Soundcloud alone! BlackBook called “Line of Fire” ‘a beguilingly motorized song…’ and claimed ‘there’s no doing it justice-just let it carry you off in all it’s oceanic splendor” while BoingBoing called it ‘an atmospheric gem.’ Be sure to check out the track’s haunting video directed by Swedish filmmaker Mikel Cee Karlsson. Featuring vocals by José González with Elias Araya on drums and Tobias Winterkorn on keys, “Line of Fire” showcases a bolder, more mature Junip.

Returning to their rehearsal space in Gothenberg, Sweden (where they recorded their 2010 debut release, Fields) the trio once again engaged the assistance of producer Don Alsterberg.

It was an easy decision to self-title the second chapter in their collective story as José states, “All the ups and downs were very ‘Junip,’ so titling it with our name seemed appropriately iconic. It’s truly a band album.”
