Poster Propuesta B

Mute are delighted to announce the Festival Mute Mexico 2015, presented by Punto De Encuentro. The festival, on Saturday 21 March 2015, takes place at Valentín Gómez Farías in Tlaquepaque.

Festival Mute Mexico is curated by Mute founder, Daniel Miller, and will feature live sets from Liars, Ben Frost and Land Observations plus DJ sets from Vince Clarke, Irmin Schmidt, Apparat, Daniel Miller. Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark (OMD) will perform live as very special guests.

Vince Clarke, founding member of Depeche Mode, Yazoo and most recently Erasure who released their latest album, The Violet Flame last summer, will play a rare DJ set while Irmin Schmidt, founding member of Can and recent recipient of a Knighthood – the Chevalier De L’Ordre Des Arts Et Des Lettres – for his contribution to arts and culture by the French Ministry of Culture, will DJ at the festival as well as collaborate with Daniel Miller for a DJ set and talk at the Fonoteca Nacional in Mexico City on Thursday 19 March.

Liars, who released their latest album, Mess, in 2014 will bring their unmissable turbulent and intoxicating live performance to Mexico alongside Ben Frost, currently on worldwide tour following the release of A U R O R A, and Land Observations, who released The Grand Tour last year.

Further DJ sets from Apparat, aka Sascha Ring, who has most recently been on tour with Moderat following the release of Moderat II and Daniel Miller, who DJs at Sonar Rekyavik this weekend (14 February) complete the Mute line up.

Orchestral Manouveres In The Dark join as very special guests with a live performance. OMD recently released a new album English Electric, and Paul Humphreys remixed Erasure’s Be The One, from 2014’s The Violet Flame.

The festival is part of the Dual Year UK – MX 2015, which will see British culture taking part in various festivals and cultural centres throughout Mexico, and Mexican events throughout the UK, as part of a year long celebration.

Punto de Encuentro presents Festival Mute Mexico with support of the National Council for Culture and the Arts, and in collaboration with the municipality of San Pedro Tlaquepaque on Saturday 21 March 12pm midday to midnight at the sports unit Valentín Gómez Farías, 7 Diego Rivera Street, Lomas de Tlaquepaque, Jalisco, México.

The festival is free, tickets must be reserved in advance and are available from Wednesday 18 February, www.ticketmaster.com.mx
